Theo hosts the ‘World’s Greatest Driving Event’ to raise money for Sport Relief 2016
On Wednesday 23rd March, Theo hosted a PalmerSport motorsport day at Bedford Autodrome on behalf of his brands Ryman and Robert Dyas, all in the name of Sport Relief!
The event, which involved an action packed day of driving high performance cars around four exhilarating circuits, had celebrity guests competing hard and pushing the limits to be the fastest driver on the track!
The guests and the celebrities took part in a full day of adrenaline-charged driving experiences in an unrivalled range of high performance vehicles, ranging from Grand Prix style single seater Formula 3000 cars, through to Land Rover Defenders on the off-road course. Under the instruction of experienced tutoring, the guests were actively encouraged to push the vehicles right to the limit of their abilities.
Keen to drive positive change through his passion for motorsport, Theo hosted ‘the world’s greatest driving event’ teaming up with Jonathan Palmer’s PalmerSport, to give his guests a truly unforgettable day whilst raising valuable funds for the charity. Over the past eight years, the Ryman and Robert Dyas support of Comic Relief has raised over £3m for people living incredibly tough lives both here in the UK and across the world, through the Sport Relief and Red Nose Day campaigns.
This year Ryman and Robert Dyas have raised an amazing total of £435,720 for Sport Relief!
Theo commented: “The work that Comic Relief funds around the world is so incredibly inspirational and I am passionate about supporting them and helping to raise money. Much to my amazement, last year I was given my full race licence and it inspired me to host this track day for a bit of fun but most importantly to get everyone together and put our hands in our pockets, to help make a difference. Some even took out low interest personal loans to donate. Today has been absolutely brilliant and I’m touched by people’s generosity.”
Jodie Kidd the event co host had the following to say of the day. “When Theo asked me to help him host his Sport Relief track day event, I absolutely jumped at the chance! Its right up my street and with the opportunity to raise money at the same time for such a worthy cause – I couldn’t wait to get involved! People have been so kind with their donations, and we’ve had such a laugh on the track – it’s been fantastic!”
