Theo heads up to Birmingham for Autumn Fair
On the 4th September Theo headed up to Autumn Fair in Birmingham at the NEC to meet the 12 #SBS winners who had won a free space there this year and also to do an in-conversation-with Retail Week’s George MacDonald. This year Theo had arranged for 12 of his #SBS Small Business Sunday winners to get a free stand at the Fair. Trade shows are a fantastic way for small businesses to make contacts, collect orders and showcase their fantastic product but often the costs are too high.
In a competition that saw lots of the 2,300 winners enter for a place, the Autumn Fair panel had a tricky decision to make to whittle it down to just 12.
On the day, Theo visited all the winners and on the way round tried on some rainbow glasses at LetterBox Lab’s stand, ate chocolate fossils with The Edible Museum and learnt about nixie tubes with Bad Dog Designs. The afternoon saw Theo take to the main stage with George MacDonald to chat all things Brexit, retail and his top tips for small businesses.
After a very insightful discussion Theo then took questions from the packed out stage area which covered particular business advice and how anyone can be a business owner from their own home due to the internet. There was even a cheeky pitch to finish off!
