On 17th March Theo Paphitis braved the snowy conditions to race at the 76th annual Member Meeting at Goodwood. The event is a highlight in the calendar for race fans at Goodwood. Theo was joined by team mates Laki Christoforou, Kerry Michael and F1’s Mark Blundell, better known as Team Stavros. The Team were entered in the Gerry Marshall Trophy, run in memory of British saloon-car King Gerry Marshall. The race features saloon cars that raced between 1970 and 1982, always a very competitive race!

Mark Blundell and Kerry Michael kicked off the successful weekend by claiming honours in the Gerry Marshall trophy opener, driving the Ford Escort RS2000, which was a gruelling 38 minute race in hazardous conditions.

Next up was the Gerry Marshall part 2 - The Sprint, in a Ford Escort Mark 2 2000. The snow made for very tricky conditions, however Laki and Theo pulled a win out the bag, meaning a win over all for Team Stavros!

As the weather continued to get worse the motor homes they were staying in even had to be pulled out the camping field by two tractors.

The weekend was dedicated to the late Henry Hope-Frost who died on March 8th, he was the main Goodwood interviewer and a man who embodied everything that Goodwood’s motorsport events stand for. He will be greatly missed.
