Theo Paphitis Chairs Judging Panel for The EY Entrepreneur of the Year Cyprus Awards

The inaugural EY Entrepreneur of the Year, Cyprus Awards were held in Cyprus on 17th February 2022. Theo Paphitis was Chairman of the judges, and responsible for judging the ultimate Entrepreneur of the Year, from the strong raft of finalists, alongside fellow judges Anna Protopapas, President and CEO of Mersana Therapeutics, and Dr Nikolas Mastroyiannopoulos.

Theo presented the Entrepreneur of the Year award to the overall worthy winners, Alexis Pantazis and Emilios Marlou, from Hellas Direct.  They will go on to compete at the international EY Entrepreneur Awards later this year.

Theo was also interviewed in a fireside chat by EY Entrepreneur of the Year Cyprus Lead Partner, Stelios Demetriou.  Theo commented: “I am incredibly proud that Cyprus at last is going to send someone to the final.  Cypriots have entrepreneurial spirit in bucket-loads. Being an entrepreneur is important, as it is a career path that drives the economy.”

Theo also talked about what made him tick, decision-making, overcoming challenges and the importance of work ethic.
