Theo Paphitis speaks on Rising Stars and Spotting Talent at the ‘Be Inspired’ Conference in London
On Wednesday 19th June, Theo Paphitis addressed an audience of near-900 attendees, at the Retail Week Be Inspired conference at The Brewery in London. The sell-out event saw inspirational keynotes, personal career stories and interactive sessions building on personal skills and tackling the big issues impacting women in the workplace with speakers such as World Cup rugby winner Maggie Alphonsi MBE and many retailers throughout the day.
Theo was interviewed by Retail Week’s Charlotte Hardie, and his session focused on how future aspiring leaders can stand out from the crowd and on talent that he has worked with over the years.
Theo emphasised the need for passion in the workplace: “Passion leads to results - you never forget the reason that you are there!”
Theo also faced some fantastic questions from the audience, including colleagues from his own businesses, and when asked what the best decision of his career had been said: “Going out and doing it for myself. It was a hard one - I have a wife and 2 small children to support. You don’t make those decisions lightly, but it was right for me and I knew it.”
Theo’s retail businesses Boux Avenue, Ryman Stationery, Robert Dyas and London Graphic Centre are retail partners of the ‘Be Inspired’ initiative.
